Bookwyrm profile

  1. Rampart Trilogy (The Book of Koli,Trials of Koli, The Fall of Koli) by M. R. Carey ⭐️⭐️⭐️; teenager post-apocalyptic sci-fi, good sense of world. Lots of commentary on technology. Listened to audiobooks.

  2. The History of the Third Reich series by Richard J. Evans ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; couldn’t have hoped for a better thorough history of Nazi Germany. Listened to audiobooks.

  3. A Song of Ice and Fire #1-5 by George R. R. Martin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️; by the time I was caught up on the series I was sick of it but can’t deny he’s a great writer. I’ll probably finish it up when they come up. Listened to audiobooks.

  4. The Triumph of Christianity by Bart D. Ehrman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; great writer, will definitely read more of his histories of Christianity.

  5. The Deficit Myth by Stephanie Kelton ⭐️⭐️; I didn’t really care for it as an intro to MMT and it repeats itself over and over again. Need to find a different MMT primer.

  6. The Zone of Interest by Martin Amis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; had to read the book after watching the phenomenal movie adaptation. fantastic book, weirder and more robust than the movie. Loved everything about it.

  7. Slough House series by Mick Herron ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; i love the apple tv slow horses series and it turns out it captures the tone and pace of the books really well. at the time of writing i’m up to the 5th book, London Rules. super cynical and funny spy thrillers. i think the utterly depressing politics in the books are maybe more accurate today than they were even during the post-08 crash era the series started in. good audiobooks too.

  8. Remembrance of Earth’s Past series by Cixin Liu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; re-read of this series solidified it as my favorite scifi of all time. i recommend seeking out the Bruno Roubicek audiobook narrations, i think he’s the best of the few people who have done them.
